Geothermal Energy Systems

Superior Mechanical is proud to offer geothermal energy alternatives that can heat or cool your home without damaging the environment. Our geothermal energy technology will harness the earth’s natural energy and transform it into energy that can power your home. This process is safe, efficient, clean, and renewable.

Though geothermal energy installation can be costly, it can provide valuable long-term cost savings that will make it worth the investment in the long run. If your children inherit your home, they will inherit a property with almost no utility bills. If you plan to sell your home, geothermal energy is a unique and attractive amenity to prospective buyers that will guarantee an increased sale price.

By using geothermal energy, you can not only do your part to save the environment, but reap long-term financial benefits.

How does it work?

In North Carolina, geothermal energy is generated from ambient ground temperature just below the earth’s surface. This energy remains about 50 to 60° F throughout the year and is available to everyone with a heat pump system that is able to convert it (called a geothermal heat pump.)

More about geothermal heat pumps

A geothermal heat pump uses pipes that are buried beneath ground in a vertical or horizontal loop. Water is circulated throughout the loop with a pump and a vapor compression refrigeration cycle.

Because the ground temperature is nearly constant all year, the heat pump can efficiently provide both heating in the winter and cooling in the summer.

Your geothermal energy system

Because every home is different, we will custom-build a geothermal energy system that accommodates your home’s square footage, residential requirements, and land restrictions. We will design the system to not only function adequately, but tie into the existing home’s design and exterior appearance.
